4l80e... In my opinion. There are a lot of guys with built 4l65e that are still running strong but for how long? A more than few have blown them up too. And to my knowledge there's one blown 4l80e and it just had a shift kit. And a crazy man at the wheel. If you plan on going a long way with your mods in my opinion as you blow **** apart put is **** you can't blow apart. But I'm biest.

Go with a built 4L80E Should leave plenty of room in the future for ANYTHING you could possibly to do to your truck. When my 4L60 craps the bucket im going with one....but then again, i also plan on running 13's with 36" tires in a 4x4 ECSB You might want to consider a rear end upgrade after the tranny, seeing how your new weak link is going to be the crummy 10 bolt.

i was referring to the gm 4L65E. using that allows you to get warrenty work done on it all over the united states..... nothing againt joe because he is a pretty good guy, but anytime you're looking at a 4L65E from an aftermarket, make sure you have proof that it really is a 4L65E. some guys have bought what is supposed to be a 65E and later taken them apart to find it wasn't really what they'd paid for.
