so are all the conections as far as wireing the same? i am thinking when i get a tranny i will try to make a 4l80e work. because i do not want to keep rebuilding 4l60e's

No they are not. It takes a few wiring mods and PCM reprogramming to do it. Then it works fine.

i will but not soon enough for you. my plan is well i need money first. but i want to go buy a 4l80e from a wrecked truck or something not spend much. then have it built and eventualy take a weekend to figure out how to make it work. then i will have a 4l60e just chilling in the garage.

Here's the 4L60E to 4L80E adapter kit we make for $150. It includes the main trans harness adapter as well as the ISS harness which must be added (and the 2 pins plugged into your PCM).
If you have LS1 Edit already you use a 4L80E file with a matching segment #1 ID. If you don't have LS1 Edit we can reprogram your PCM with the 4L80E file. It's actually better if you have Edit, so I don't have to get involved in a bunch of mail order tuning!
When doing in-shop harnesses we just build the harness for which ever trans is being used by the customer, but this adapter will do the same thing.
