Wish I had a cheap alternative. Stalls are outrageous. A cheap one for the 4L80E would be nice.

you don't use the 4.2 converter, you use the 5.3 converter that is used in the trail blazers....the I6 converter i was told WILL NOT work with our motors.

Slow, please share the reason you say it will not work with our motors. Too tall or short? The bolt circle on the flexplate different? Why won't it work?

i would imagine the bolt pattern would be different being from 2 different motors, but since the motors are backed by the same tranny i could be wrong. i don't know a solid reason the I6

I was told over the phone by a service manager at a local dealership, and by a represenative of a local performance shop that the I6 version wont work, but the TRAIL BLAZER 5.3 converter would work.

I dont know guys but PatrickG seems to say it will work.

The 2002-2003 Trailblazer/Envoy/Bravada vehicles with 4.2L motors have a nice converter that is a direct bolt-in (no modifications at all). Stalls 2400 behind a 4.8, 2600 behind a 5.3 and 2800 behind a 6.0L. Nice converter. Efficient. Good clutch. Just haven't found any killer prices on them from dealers though. Part# 24215557

Well I placed my order with a friend for 24215557. Don't know when I'll get it or for exactly how much -- at least wholesale hopefully less. I will probably install it on 12/13.

I will keep you posted on the results.

Well Patrick G says the verter in the inline-6 WILL work.
Which is it? I would imagine it would work since the tranny is the same (4L60E)
But what do I know?
