I can't find a price on the part number 24215557 and neither gmpartsdirect or Scoggin Dickey have a part with that number. Which number is the right one?
Um...the part# you gave (24213393) and the one at the beginning of this thread BOTH come up on gmpartsdirect and partszoneonline.

I don't know why you say part#24215557 doesn't come up at gmpartsdirect

When I punch in both numbers at both websites, I get similar description results: "T/CV REM" and the like, whatever the hell that means.
However, the part # you have is a better price which I like.

I will clear up this confusion tomorrow(I hope).

My bad. I looked late Saturday night and only checked Scoggin Dickey. I am going to place a few phone calls myself and will post my findings too.

The 24213393 is for the 5.3 and will be the same converter that came stock in the silverado. Mark that one off the list.

I called P & G (partszoneonline) and when they pulled up the Trailblazer the only converter listed was 24228708 until 2004 with the 5.3. The 2004, 5.3, number was the same as the stock converter in our trucks.

I called a local dealer that gave me the same part number as P & G. So I am seriously confused about the part number listed at the top of this thread.

Ok, I spoke to my bud.
part#24215557 is the TC for the inline-6 4.2 Trailblazer with the 4L60E.
He doesn't have the specs of it, says you will need some special GM parts book or something to get the real info on it.

Of course it will fit, but does anyone know if it really is a 2600 stall? I find that hard to believe since everyone wants a nice smooth ride.

Oh, I can get em for $300, which is cost, but then there's a $100 core charge

Who wants to test it?

I think the thing here is that the TC stalls at like, 1600 or whatever behind the stock I6, but it'll stall higher behind a more powerfull LS1 motor.

Kinda like the Yank 3000's flashing to 4000+ with a supercharger...

ok, sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread but i've been busy. anyways, the part number is what's listed above 24213393, i wasn't able to find out what it stalls to as a direct replacment stall for us but i will. it costs $277.37 list price and cost is $208.03, if you can find a dealership that's cool and hook you up with one at COST that would be a bad *** deal really. i'll talk to one of the guys at my dealership wednesday and see if i can findout what it stalls to and the STR.

The I-6 4.2 (275ft/bs@3600) and the V-8 5.3 (295ft/lbs@5200) make the alomst the SAME torque numbers ???.....with the I-6 making the torque MUCH lower !!
This being the case then the TB converter will actually stall LOWER in a 5.3 truck because the 5.3 can't put as much torque against it at the lower RPM's !!

This sounds right to me.....anyone agree ???

nm.....had my numbers wrong.....

but I'm still not sure that the TB converter will stall any higher because the torque curve of the 4.2 is much smoother than the 5.3's....and comes in sooner as well
