How does this work? I thought with the converter your traction problems would increase because you are more in the powerband sweet spot with the higher RPM's? Maybe TM related?

It could be TM related but...

I had a 3200 stall in my car for a while and traction was non existant at more than 40-50% throttle from a stop. Then I stepped up to a 3800 stall and it was MUCH easier to launch on the street than the 3200.

The reason explained to me was that the 3800 didn't hit the tires as quickly as the 3200 did therefore giving them a chance to get a little traction.

Maybe that has something to do with it also.

What year trailblazer is it off of? Is it a direct swap or do you need to modify anything?

My truck will break both BFG AT's loose anywhere in 1st gear with only 1/2 - 3/4 throttle. In the rain its not too bad if i'm on level ground, but taking off going up hill is like driving in deep snow.

according to my gm parts guy the part number shows a 2004 trailblazer with the inline 6 cylinder. yes it was a direct swap no modification required.

What else do you recommend to install at the same time besides a shift kit?

I installed a vette servo, separator plate, and an aluminum accumulator piston along with the transgo-hd. one spacer with the transgo was plenty for me. the 1-2 shift is awesome at wot, firm at part throttle. 2-3 shift is firm at wot. I have 265/75/16 firestone wilderness le's they are 31.6 inches tall. I also have 3.73 gears
