No problem, some like'em, some don't, I'm not offended

Now what if there was a stock style, made by GM rocker with a 1.8 ratio, Hmmm.....

I agree. If properly setup with the correct springs, the Crane 1.8 rockers will buy you both lift and valve duration without cahnging cams. And there are several sets for sale on LS1Tech right now. The key factor is to ensure you have enough, but not too much, seat pressure. 130# is a good number to shoot for on the seat.

I would say go with the TR220. My cam is pretty mutch a high lift version of the 224, and Im running a TB stall. I dont like as mutch as I did the 3000, but it works. Partly because I have a 6l, but I would think it would work with the TR 220 in a 5.3.

He was refering to the proper spring. The only way you can adjust seat pressure a little bit is by putting shims under the spring. You are limited how much you can do this due to coil bind issues. The proper spring is best.
ap2002 - that's an awful lot of work for such a small change. I wouldn't waste my time unless it was for the TR220. Just plan on doing the stall later if you must. High ratio rocker swap would be easier but twice as much as a cam .

Then again, Isnt Kevin running a 2500 stall with a cam that is significantly larger than the 216/220. His truck is still lighter though. Just a thought.

I was thinking the same as you, I would think his is lighter and he has 4.10's.... I am wondering if I could just go with the TR220 and stay with my converter then put some 4.10's?? I wonder how that would work...
