which TR224 is it? A 112LSA or 114LSA. I think a TR224 on 114LSA with 4* advance will have great low end TQ and will tow good with a Trail Blazer stall. The higher stall you go while towing, the hotter the tranny will get with the TQ convertor unlocked.
If you dont already have the cam you should look into the "old man" cam. Its a fairly small cam with high lift and works well for towing.

Are you also swaping the springs? I know it may be a dumb question.
That cam is a little different then the TR224, but since you already have it use it. Just install it 4* advanced to lower the power range down. It should still have good low end like that for towing and possibly increase you milage a little. I didnt tow with my Silvy but with the LPE GT1 cam I got up to 20mpg with 4.10's.
Me personaly I tow @6-7K quite often with my Yukon and will be swapping out to the "old man" cam because they are renound for low end grunt. They have had dyno's with as much as 40hp over stock through the mid range. Thats huge. I want as much more TQ as I can get between 1700-2500rpms for towing, but dont want to go FI because it eats gas.

When I was cam shopping a while back, I had some correspondence with Thunder and they recommended against the TR224 for a heavy truck...and my truck's a rcsb 1500, although it is a 4x4. I did mention that I don't tow a thing, and they recommended their 220 at the most, with around a 3k stall.
Oh yea, and I thought that Thunder uses Comp lobes...
