Default Found something cool about my truck!!

does anyone else's truck downshift when you slow down? I just realized mine downshifts through each gear. I was thinking is there a way to adjust the computer where, when it downshifts it will hold each gear a little longer. For example: the chevy duramax downshifts and holds when tow haul is engaged. It would be neat if we can figure this out!!

I don't get it. What do you mean by downshifts? Mine doesn't do it on its own. It will downshift automatically when it gets to speeds under 25mph. It will just go out of OD. Depending on how slow under 25mph, it will either go into 2nd or 3rd at the least. I would have to come to a complete stop for it to go down into first without touching the throttle.
How is your doing this on its own?

Jim

i dunno, when i get below 45 and start slowing down without touching the gas you can count the gears down(very noticable), it downshifts on its own but dosen't hold the gear very long.

You can change the down shift points in the tune just like the up shifts.

I acutually don't like mine downshifting too early. When I hit the throttle again, it tries to find another appropriate gear and if didn't downshift so much, it wouldn't have that problem. Hell, mine upshifts into OD when I am on the highway and give it more throttle, instead of staying the same gear until I am done accelerating.

I used to suffer from this, until I learned how to tune all of that out.

I will have an ADM CAI, MAF and tune by the end of August, so it won't be too much longer.
