Can I tow with a stall? How will it behave? I am affraid I will just be yanking on the trailer when I give it a little. I have never had a car with a stall so I have no idea how it will act. I will need to get a truck to tow a boat one day and I am just doing some research. I like everything I own to go fast and a stall seems to be the best first mod. When my wife drives it will she notice? She won't car unless it is jerky.
Thanks IA

If you ar talking about a high stall converter here for towing, make sure you use a even bigger aux cooler because as the converter works its magic, it also heat the oil more and too. Generally for serious towing you want a lower stall converter to minmize heat build up when pulling it hard at low speeds.

I don't intend on towing more than 5500 pounds. That would be full load with full tanks (water, fuel etc...). Probably less. I am bad with guessing weight. I thought my car was like 3800Lbs when it actually is 3300.

i tow a 20" wakeboard boat, sometimes 300 plus miles (so cal to havasu) in my truck with the Yank 2600. I am very pleased with the Yank 2600, but i would NOT want any more stall. The only time my stall becomes an issue is at 50 mph, when the converter is unlocked and im running 2200-2600 rpms. I dont have a tranny temp (yet) but im sure the tranny is really heating up at 50 mph and 2600 rpms. the stall is also a small PITA when i back up my long steep driveway with the boat. i have to get it to 2600 rpms before it will move and if i let off the gas, it starts rolling forward when i have it in reverse. at highway speeds, once the converter is locked, its great. and it's not too bad around town, but i dont think i'd be too happy with the TT3000.

Thanks for reminding me why I went with the 2600, Revolution.
I dug up a small handfull of posts like yours waaaay back when I got this thing. Lately I've been considering going bigger... but I know I'd be happiest with the 2600 for towing.

Deeper stalls can play real nice with 4.56's of 4.88's because youi get your nice launch and you get RPM up quicker and off of stall than with a 3.73 or so. I had a freind years ago the drag raced with a alchol powered car with a 5000 RM stall and a 5.38 gear set. It was "fun" getting on the trailer with that stall.
