towing f-bods with a dollie....
i might be picking up a '99 blazer today with the 4.3 v6. One of the service guys told me if i want the truck to last more than a couple years i shouldn't tow with a full trailer, i could only tow with a dollie. What are your guys thoughts on towing f-bods with a dollie? TIA....

Don't get a blazer period. why? 4.3 is nothing to begin with. cars have more power then that for the amount your going to pay for that blazer. Also the value is going down. People are getting Import SUV's now, not domestic. save your dough and get a Tahoe or something with more Jam.

Did you get the blazer or not? If you did, you might try some air shocks like Fast4.8 uses. They make heavy towing easier and safer because you won't be riding on the bumpstops. Also because it seems like those S10s/Blazers tend to wear out leaf springs fast even without towing. Also a Hayden rapidcool transmission cooler will help the trans last longer and keep the fluid/filter changed at least every 25000 miles or so. I say tow the whole trailer/car combo as long as it is within the rated towing capacity.

yep, i got it. I know i gotta get some suspension stuff and a trans cooler. Found out it has a "safe" towing capacity of 5000lbs give or take. So with a 3500lb car and 1500lb trailer, i'm right there <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
