I don't have a stall speed in the truck but I had a 3500 in my old TA. It was a Th350 so no lock up. It was pretty loose in the city but its not like people think. Hit the gas and the car don't move, then all of the sudden it hits 3500rpms and just jets off. HA HA. I bet these Vigilante and Yanks are pretty tight in the city, probably not really even noticeable. They still lock up and are not that loose to begin with unless you get the 4400. If I was going to buy one, I would get a 3200, that will really fill in the gap in power from 1500-3500. Its not going to be noticeably worse in the city then a 2800-3k. There is a guy here local that builds them. Brian(Really slow truck) bought one. ITs like a 2600. Its in a stock converter case I believe. He got it for $300 or something like that. But if I was going to all the trouble to change it and lose gas mileage, I would go all out. Have him build a loose 11" or a tight 10". Give you around 3k-3200 rpms of flash stall. I am sure Brian will give you the guys name if he reads this. Let me know what you decide and how it works. Better buy some ET streets to go with it.

I lost maybe 1 mpg. Hyde's right, if you have decided to mod it then why worry about gas mileage? I get about 15-16 city with all my mods.

Thanks for the info guys. I agree mod the hell outta it. I might go with the 3200 i was not happy with the 2800 in my Z-28. I have a buddy thats going to put blue clutches and bands in the tranny for me when i get the stall i'll do it all at one time. i'm also going to change to 3.73 gears from my 3.42's.do you think 4.10's would be better? again i appreciate the input...

Badride, i would go with the 3:73, cause i still like hauling *** down the freeway and i promise it made a big jump in rpm's from the 3:42 to 3:73 at freeway speeds

Thanks for the info. It might be better to wait and see the exact setup on the motor.
