Default Torque Converter install

Has anybody attempted to do this themselves in their garage? If so, give some feedback. Do you need to drop the exhaust? etc thx

I don't have a torque converter but I would also like to know how much it would cost to have a shop install it or how long it would take.

i dont know too much about it. but you have to drop the tranny which can weigh a ton. i heard that it is alot easier to do yourself if you have a tranny jack. as for the cost of the install. i think it is somewhere around $400. not positive though. i have one that is going to be installed in a week or so. i am having someone do it for me.

A 4x4 install is much more difficult than a 2dw. Dealing with the transfer case on top of everything else is a pain.

I know someone at a dealers service dept who charged $250 for the complete trans swap and converter install on the escalade project.

I installed mine in my garage with only a crappy flor jack. Next time, I will rent a good one. It made the install much more difficult. It took me about 12 hours with the limited resources I had. I'm sure a 2wd install would be much faster.

Allen is just north of Plano. I found a guy that charges $150 to do it so I may just do that instead of trying it myself.
