a friend of mine gave me some mickey thompson sportsmans this weekend. they're pretty worn but have a few passes left in them. question is, can i mount these on my stock wheels? they are 27x11.5. will i need to use tubes? what kinda pressure should i run? how well should i heat them up?
i could get my hands on some 16x8 wheels real easy. but i don't wanna waste the money if i'm only gunna make 5-10 passes on em.

You should be fine on the stock wheels for the amount of runs your going to get. 11.5s are the limit though if not a bit over. I think some of the guys are running 20 psi on the ET's. And your going to have to heat them up pretty damn good if you don't want to get squirrly for your 1-2 shift if it's pretty hard.

are they the sportsmans or sportmans pro? If they are the reg sportsman they are crap and not worth wasting the money to mount up. I had a set on my 69 camaro and all thy did was spin. The sportsman pro are good and used more to race with versus the show purpose the sportsmans are for they are more intended for street rods.
