Default Tire Pressure at strip

Im going to San Antonio tomorrow night to run my truck at the dragstrip.

I have 275/60/17 BFG Comp T/A street tires, and thats what I'll be using since I have no slicks or DRs.

Anyway, spraying the 125 shot in 1st gear will fry the tires on the street and I was wondering if lowering the air pressure some will help hook better since the track is also prepped. Max pressure is 44psi; what psi should I use for the strip?

thanks

I go down to 11 lbs on my 285/60/16's and get 2.0X on my 60's, and no wheel spin, stalling up to 2,000 RPM's

i would try lowering it in increments. if your normal pressure is say 35, go down to 25 then 20 and so on. if you still can't get traction, find the increment where you get more traction vs the other pressure levels. then feather it to some degree off the line. it might help.

From what ive heard you should be running between 10-15 psi below what you run on the street. And with your tires im assuming you are running at ~35 psi so try 20-25 psi on the strip

forgot to mention that. the 11lbs I got from experimenting with tire pressure.
it also depends on the track. sometimes you wont have to go that low.
But the last time I ran at SRP I ran 11lbs

I am buy no means an expert but i experimented with letting about 10 psi out of my radials at the strip and noticed no difference at all, in fact i spun up to about 40 mph
