Default Timing Question

I'm helping a friend tune his truck with ls1edit. When it comes to the timing are you guys advancing the whole table or just a certain part of it?
Btw his truck is na with k&n fipk and a magnaflow muffler.

check www.ls1tuning.com a few guys there work with the tables and if you search it might already be answered
