Default Timing chain question

So i will be swapping my cam again and was going to replace the timing chain with a comp double roller. The new cam specs are 216 int 224 exh @.050 with a LSA of 112 .550lift, which I wouldn't consider to aggresive. I read a few post on here from others that say it is not worth the hassle of replacing the timing gears and chian because the oil pump is a pain to take out and put back in. Also, that if I put in a double roller I would have to notch the back of the timing cover???? The engine has less than 50,000 miles and has had one cam swap already. What are your thoughts on this, should I replace the timing gears and chain and if yes, should I stick with my comp double roller or return it and get something else?

I wouldn't. I don't really think its worth it.

For every 2 people that ask if they should change the timing chain, one comes back with low oil pressure after they do it. Always that damn oil O-Ring. Not worth scrapping a motor.

With that low of miles I wouldnt do the swap. Over 100K Id think about it, and even then Id only do an LS2 chain, doubles arent need IMO till you go with a very aggressive lobed cam with stout springs and high rpm usage. You will have to notch the cover when for a double.

Thanks guys for your help. I think I am still going to replace the timing chain. I looked at texas speed and performance web site and thye say that the LS2 timing chain is stronger and tighter. They even have a comparison between the LS! and LS2 chains and you can see the diff. I think I will be returning my comp double roller to summit and either buy a LS2 chain or the roller master single roller non adjust. Feel free to bump me on this, your comments help, Thanks!
