timing chain Q's
#1
Hey guys, I was planing to do a cam swap this weekend, got every thing i thought i would need but forgot about t-chain. Idid a search about this and
seems like most will say change it out for insurance. My truck has 60,000 on the clock, should i wait and get one? Do you have to get the oil pump alinged on the crank or do you just bolt it on? From what i have read the oil pump is what gives the most trouble, thats why if i can get away with not touching it the better. Give me your expert opinons

Swapping springs is dependant on what cam you decide to run

Personally, at only 60K i wouldn't worry about the chain. They will run a LONG time, and it's a bit of a hassle to change since you have to pull the oil pump and fight with getting it off and on with out taking the pan and pickup tube off.

Ive been looking but I can't find it, but how much lift will the stock 5.3 springs take.
Is it completley worthless to try to run a stock like lift cam? Do you really need the lift? It looks like the 4.8/5.3 heads don't really flow much in the .500 and .600 lift.
