Default Time For New Pads???

how long should the factory brake pads last. isnt it like 100k for normal driving. so about 75k would be a good time to change them out for hard driving? also what are some good pads that arent a crap load of money.

70K miles and still on original set. It's about time for a pad change and rotor resurfacing though. Much better than my old 98 F-150. I went through 3 sets of pads, and 1 set of rotors in 50K miles, plus A LOT of brake dust.
I plan on doing a brake job at 75K miles. New pads all around, and resurfacing the rotors. I priced OEM pads at the local dealership, and they want $140 for the front and $140 for rear! JUST FOR PADS! I'm sure you can get pads for $50-60 bucks at a parts store, but I want a good quality pad thats easy on brake dust. Anyone running aftermarket pads??

i've heard the carbon fiber pads are best and put off the least amount of brake dust i'm at 64k with stock pads on mine. but i have a set of albany pads i'm gonna put on for a while till i can afford a baer setup with carbon fiber pads

I've heard Hawk pads are supposed to be good. I plan on trying these when mine decide to wear out. Stock pads at 68k and still quit a bit left.

Maybe that says something about your driving habits.

I've got 54k and still have a lot left on my original pads
