Default ticking after heads and cam swap on LS1.

Just did a head and can swap on my neighbors 2001 camaro ss. Used new LS7 lifters and Texas speed 7.4 pushrods. Heads are unmilled. Has a tsunami can. Has a loud tick on passenger side and it only sounds like a single tick. Could it be a lifter not pressurized with oil yet? Any thoughts or ideas?

People going to say the push rods are prob to long, you have to much PL. Go back over the valves again, possibly check the PL on the side you think has the tick. Or it could be just a lifter that isn't pumped yet.

I might be wrong, but dont you need to run the ls2 style lifter tray with the ls7 lifters?

Being that it sounds like one lifter/rocker..I might agree on lifter not primed yet. I'll go over the valves again And see what I find.hopefully thats all it might be.

Make sure you don't have an exhaust leak. Tick will sound the same.

I'll check and make sure there isnt a leak at the header flanges. Never really thought of that. Thanks
