Im wondering how big the throttle body is on the 4.8 is like there a mm size on them just wondering and also would porting the throttle body help increase performance? if so i have a dremel tool and very mechiac wise i work on race cars alot but is it hard? and also does one of those granatelli maf worth the money? im just wondering becaue i thought the stock ones are good up to like 400 hp?

70mm i believe...porting the TB will give minimal if any gains in actual performance, but maybe a little better throttle response. stock TBs are one tons of motors that are making 600+ motors, most of them have been ported in some way or another but i'm sure that at the lower power levels the porting is worth less than it is with the higher power levels.

I ported and polished mine and it took almost 2 tenths off my 1/4 mile time.

That is very impressive. TB port and polishing is only worth 4-6 rwhp. Were both runs at the same track under the same atmosphere conditions.

Nope. The runs were a week apart butclimate conditions were nearly identical.I have done about 50 tb's so I have a liitle "extra experience" when it comes to tweaking tb's. I was quite surprised myself.
