Default Best centrifugal S/C

Well I'm still saving for my supercharger and was just curious what you guys think the best centrifugal s/c is when it comes to every day driver.
Heres my thoughts:
1. Vortech -great kit but no intercooler/aftercooler comes with the kit, need to buy seperate which costs more $$$$$, 6-7psi = good boost level.
2. Procharger-great kit, has intercooler, 8-9psi available only, which makes me think "whats it going to do to my trans?" Does it come with tuning or any tuning needed, will the hpp3 work with it?
3. Powerdyne- heard they were cheaply made but recently heard that its all behind them now, 6 psi is a good boost (not too little but not too much for the trans).
Let me know what you think about each kit and why you think that. It will really help me make my decision easier. Thanks, sorry for the long post.

If you are stuck on a centrifugal then I say go ATI......

Otherwise if you have the extra money I'd go with the Radix or Turbo kit.

No matter what kit you get you are gonna require more tuning than what comes with the kit for top performance. So add in an extra $500 for that

What kinds of numbers are stock 5.3's putting down with the ATI?

The few that I have seen that were mostly stock but with shorties were in the 360-385rwhp range. I don't think they were really rev'd up so maybe could have had more. I could check with my buddy. He sells and installs Vortech, ATI and Paxton on LS1s all the time. He is currently looking into the STS turbo kits as well but my other buddy who has a shop had already hooked me up with one soooo. Hehehe

If you're really worried about your transmission, I'd suggest sticking with boltons. with any supercharger the trans is going to be an issue.

If you go centrifugal I'd suggest going 8psi or higher. Centrifugals don't feel like they pull better than stock until 2 or 3 psi. If you're only running 6psi then you'd only get a gain above 4500rpm.

A cam and stall would be a better choice than a low boost centrifugal IMO.

where is brian when you need him? radix! radix!

really nothing against any of those kits but for a daily driver the radix kicks the crap out of all of those kits. i think the tuning/fuel system that comes with the radix is prety much complete also.

When I made my choice there were no blown trucks with which to compare. Most around here simply said that the ATI kit was a little rough around the edges. I heard about weak mounting brackets, and bad tubing mostly. It makes sense that the ATI makes more power out of the box since it makes 2-3 more pounds of boost. I really liked the vortech kit and planned on upgrading everything anyway. I had to do PCM tuning and bigger injectors and an alky kit.
For a basically stock vehicle there is no better system or value than the Radix right now. That may change with the Turbo's though.
