How much rwhp are you planning on having? SPray in your future? How do you drive? How often do you go to the track and will you be using slicks? Answer all those questions and I can basically tell you what you can "probably" get away with. I have killed two trannies so far so I know a good bit about this. Also you may want to pm 01Thunder he has killed like 11 trannies and ask him what failed on his transmissions.

 

no spray, mebbie slicks or a really good sticky radial, nothing after this cam swap the 3200 stall, huge cooler, i go to the track rarely now but more after the swap i eventually want to get efi live or soemthign like it and just play with tuning and stuff, i generally drive nice old lady style and sometimes slip into led foot old lady, after i get some bigger rims i'll be auto-x style racing it a lil more

 

I owuld do the transgo hd-2 shift kit, the corvette servo, aluminum accumulator piston, and if you want for good measure sun gear shell and clutches. You should be fine with the 4 pinion planets as long as you dont up the line pressure too much and have too harsh a shifts.

 

i'm not going for neck breaking shifting here

i'm afraid if i like the slicks i'll use them alot lol and go to the track more

what about the bands?

how hard is it to just replace the sunshell and clutches? i read my factory service manual it dosent seem very bad it's all laid out nicely and whatnot

how bad would it be to drive on a trans w/o TM stock internals and that stall for a week or 2 mebbie a month depends on the rebuild time it takes me to overhaul the trans in there

 

Everyones trans is different took all the tm out of mine and it killed the 3-4 clutch pack 10 miles down the road. Its russion roulette as far as thats concerned. Clutches/band needs to be replaced. Necj breakign shifts is all in the tuning and how you install the shift kit.

 

i dont have any TM now but i wonder what it will do to the trans with that stall
