Default thought on a 232/236 .574/.577 112

just trying to expand soem knowledge here nothing really relevant

ls1 "cars" use this cam mostly, but how would it perform in a 5.3??? i'm mostly trying to figure out how the .570's lift and the huge duration would play in the drivability factor

Daily driveablity owuld be ****. You have to remember they have 1500-1800 pounds less to lug around. Like I said before I would go no bigger than the cam I had in my 5.3 if you want to keep it driveable IMO.

Bottom end owuld suck and it would start pulling hard aroun 4200-4500. Look at flyers thread he has a cam in his 5.3 that is just a tad bigger than yours and it took extensive tuning to get it running right and you have no where near what you would need to get ir running right having a mail order tune. They gain alot due to the lift of the cam and the extended duration is making your power band be way up high unless you ground the cam on like a 106-108 lsa.

If you can tune ... go for it, but not if you're going to rely on a mail order tune. If you can go to someone to tune it, that would be OK too. Don't do that with mail order tuning though.

Other than that ... I'd say go for it. I love mine, it's got a helluva lope to it and isn't bad at all on the low end. It does come alive dead on 4500, no less, no more. a phat stall would make it happier, but 3000 is more than decent with a cam that size.

Hey V8 you need to drop you a 3200 stall in there and drop 2 more tenths. My TCI 3000 that I had in my big *** truck was totally driveable oyu could get away with even bigger than that like the 3200 I said.
