1. Where did you ground it?
2. Has yours melted? (In the past? Recently?)
I was driving today with the A/C on and for some reason when I idled, the A/C didn't seem as powerful, I got that musty smell that you get when you turn them off. So I sensed something was up, but wasn't sure.
I look down at my temp gauge and it was almost at the red notch!!!
I quickly pulled over and shut the truck off. After it cooled, I started it up and the fans did not go on at all, started to get hot, so I turned her off and left my baby there for a few hours

Oh yea, I check the VSC and the power and ground are melted together
Come back and limp her home at night when it was cooler. I check everything, the fuse and holder are fine thankfully. It's just the ends of those 2 wires that plug into the VSC that melted.
I am grounded on the drivers side fender in between the fuse box case and the fender, there is a bolt in there. I used my Dremel and sanded it down to the metal thinking I got a good ground.
I am thinking it is just a bad ground so I will be grounding it to the battery now, and upgrading all the wires to 10awg except for the A/C and PCM wire since they dont draw so much power, correct?
The reason I ask those 2 questions up top is because I want to see if there's any relationship between the melted VSC's and the location of the ground wire.
Thanks

I have VSCs on both my trucks and are problem free with a big fuse holder (40A fuse too) and 10awg wire.

Yeah, I'm using 10g wire...
My DCC thinger is mounted on the back side of the fusebox. The positive wire is attached to a stud on that brass plate or bar in the fusebox internals.
The ground wire is run up behind the brake booster, to a stud on the firewall. There is an exposed braided wire also attached to it that grounds the hood or engine or something.

I don't know what you guys are doing wrong but I've had mine in succesfully for about six months now. I just use a 40 amp fuse, two 30 amp relays and all 12 guage wiring except for the 8 guage power. No problems what so ever.

Mine inline fuse holder melted as well.
One day, I went out to my truck to start her up and the battery is totally drained. I jump started it and recharged the battery, but the next day, the same thing happened. I noticed that my A/C canister was frosted over, even when I had the A/C off. I'd been wanting an Optima for a while so I figured I'd replace the battery.
No problems after the Optima. Then, while driving around for a while, I noticed this click click sound. I found out it was the A/C compressor relay. I checked the wiring and found out that my VCS power wire and A/C relay had fused together since I wire loomed them together.
I changed out the fuse holder and use bigger gauge wire and no more problems.
