What type of time did you pick-up in the quarter with your converter? If you would list what brand and stall speed you have also that would be great.
It seems these heavy trucks really respond well to the torque multiplication of a good converter.
I think I'm going to go with a 4000 stall when I get my truck project going and was looking for an idea of how much time it might be worth.
Thanks

So far my converter has yeilded 4 tenths and I'm still having traction issues with ET Streets. I figure a good 2 tenths more lie in the traction / 60 fts.
I have a PI Vigilante with a 2.5 str with a 3500 stall...modified 6 pump.
I will be sending it back for a repump (no charge within 2 years of purchase from Precision) and going 4000 as well to compliment the Heads and Cam choice (4000-6800 power band.) Once the new motor is done I may go higher yet again.

Thanks Richard
It sounds like we could be seeing some 13.DOH's coming from your truck N/A in the very near future.
I'm planning on keeping the 422 under 6500rpm so I think a 4000 stall is as high as I'll go. It should drop back to around 5200+ on the upshifts which should be right in the "Meat and potatoes" of the motor. Plus I don't think going higher on the stall with the big motor will be worth the trade off for cruiseability.
I can't wait to see your results with the heads+cam and bigger stall.
John

Hey John, just thought you'd like to know this bit of information I found for your 4400 pound truck....in case you still want to shoot for them 11's
Your truck weighs about 4400 pounds and has a 1/4 mile time of 11.9 seconds. That calculates to approximately 516.06 HP at the wheels, and about 645.07 HP at the flywheel.

Hahahaha....What are you trying to do Frank, discourage me.
516 at the wheels is possible but, I don't think I'm willing to go that far with the motor. Thats where the big stall comes in. It'll make a motor act like its making 50+ more horsepower than it actually is.
I'm thinking I can be in the 470-480rwhp range with my buildup and let weight savings and stall take care of the rest.
I wonder if I'll be able to haul anything with this truck.
Talk to ya
