I'd like to lower it 2-3 inches just in back.
The leaf springs are above the rear axle Tony, what did you reccomend for that again?
I don't like the rake of the truck.

This should get you started on what to look for: AIM Industies I will warn you their shipping is high and they have messed up both of my orders. This is just mainly a link you can browse to help make a decsion. I will say this on the Tahoe drop, be careful how much you drop it to level it out. I have seen some that are level while sitting but lower in the back when cruising not just under acceleration. I have a friend down the street with a SHOWHOE, I'll ask him about it.

Put 500 pounds in the back...that should level it out just right.
If you do lower it, I hope it's not too low when you are towing.

PSJ,
My company I own here in Sydney does exactly that to late model Tahoe's, Sub's, Silverado pickups and Rams. Have done a lot of lowering of those.
To get 2" in the back (actually about 1.75"), the cheapest and easist way is to get shackles. Two bolts per side, 30 minute install tops. To go another 2" more (4" total), you also now need spring hangers (locates front of leaf springs).
With 4" drop in rear, you need shorter Nitogen filled rear shocks, as stock ones will now bottom out (too long now). Don't go the way I read of putting diff on top of spring, that gives you 6" of drop only!! Way too much, they call it a 'flip kit'. You also need a C section kit to cut into your chassis rails with, plus shocks. Hope this helps.

John, they make a kit (not sure where you can get it) that reverses that setup. I.E. you can put your axle on top of the leafs therefore dropping it 2" or so.

Al, I just want to drop it about 2 inches in back. It's got too much rake to it.
I have a 2WD LS 99.

Hey John,
2" in back is easy. Just paut in a pair of shackles, AIM sell them, Bell Tech too. AIM are they best price wise. They just replace the stock shackles at the rear of your leaf springs, and no need to replace shocks with 2" drop. Any problems, let me know.

Hi John,
Yes, Just the shackles, they are about US$40.
Loctite those suckers in, and it will be fine!
Glad to help. Maybe yoy can help me, as I'm new to LS1 engines, EFI, and this site in general.
I have been around drag racing about 25 years though, and know lots about it through various race cars I have had. Just the LS1 & EFI stuff I'm learning, and what a crash course this is!
Anyway, thank you!
