I am thinking of puting a custom made ram air on my truck. Has someone tested their truck with and without the custom made ram air at the track? Hey thunder_01, did you get to test your truck. Did the ram air with the UPD show any gains in the 1/4?

 

i have the fipk and i just remove the headlight as my ram air. my kit seals nicely to
the hood and only lets in cool air
i did notice a difference in top end with the light removed

 

Maybe Y2K Silverado will chime in. He has a nice ram air set up.

 

Did I see my name? I like my ram-air set up and I do believe it makes a difference. No, I haven't tested it at the track but I do 0-60 & 0-90 stop watch runs and the ram-air makes the truck quicker by .15 seconds consistently in both runs over the closed up air box. I also have a UPD intake and I just got done testing the stock air box to the ram-air set up and the ram-air is definitly better. It also gives it better throttle response, it seems to really pull better on the high end.

Never made it to the track... I hated driving it around town enough to scrap the idea.
