Thinking about getting Yanked
#1
I'm thinking about torque converters. I have looked at Yanks TT2600 & TT3000. I understand that the stall is higher in one but, I have seen where many people wish they had gotten the 3000 after they had the 2600 put in.
Is the 3000 that much better performance-wise?
Are their driving characteristics the same(amount of pedal to get moving, rpm drop after shift)?
I'm leaning toward the 2600 because I think the 3000 may be too big. But I wanted to hear from a few people who have them.
Thanks, Jay

I think the Mods need to put up a TT2600 vs. TT3000 sticky. Seriously.
I haven't tried the 2600, but unless you're going to be towing some serious weight, I'd get the 3000. It's way tame and I wanted more about 2 days after I put it in.

TT3000!!!
It doesn't take long to get used to and it's really not loose at all. I'd like more, but still like the ability to tow if I want to. Hoping the new motor will bump the stall up a bit.

The TT3000 has a slightly higher STR to offset the feel of the higher stall. The only odd thing you may discover will be when it unlocks cruising around town it's going to shootup to 3000rpm or higher depending on MPH.
Aside from that, the 2600 is going to act more stock pedal feel from a stop light. But the 3000 is going to be very similar. It's going to make driving much better cruising around town bridging that BIG gap between 1st and 2nd gears too...

It seems that the 3000 is the converter of choice for the trucks.

Hitman, Go into a little more detail on the unlocking around town thing and why the rpm will go up. I'm not really following you
