Default Thinking about a gear change.

I currently have the 3.73 setup and run 31" tall tires. I would like to run a 33" tire sometimes.

My problem is that this thing is still a dog off the line. Would gears help a bunch in the 1/4 in this application? I've only done a big gear change once in my life and that was from 2.73 to 3.73 and it didn't seem to help much in ET. This was in my T/A.

I was thinking to make it worth my time I would have to go to 4.56s. That would act like a 3.73 in a car with a normal sized tire. It would put my cruise RPM at 75MPH just about 2,700rpm. Right now I turn 2,500rpm at 85mph.

I will have the nitrous kit hooked up hopefully this week. That is the only other mod not in my sig that I plan on. Truck race weight is 4700lbs.

yeah 4.56 will really help you get the beast moving. I would do it since your going to 33.

I have 4:56's with a 30 inch tire and it really isn't that bad at all, I just got back from a 2,000 mile trip and it was comfortable cruising. At 130 KPH which is a little over 80 MPH my Rpm's were about 2,700, definitly not ideal, but not bad.

with 33's, 4.56's would be just about right for playing around.

i got 4.10s on my truck and its not bad AT ALL! and its lowered, 2wd.

4.56 with big 'ol tires would be worth it while you're there.
