Default Thermostat performance

I want to get a 160 degree thermostat. But before I get it I just wanted to make sure that the A/C and heater still worked fine at that much lower of an operatoring temperature. During the winter time it can get to around 17 degrees with a wind chill below that, just to give you an idea of the temps, I'll be driving in...

i didn't lose anything as far as a/c or heat.....both work amazingly!!!! you could hang meat in my truck with max ac on by the end of my road. i would just modify the stock thermo really though, it's insane to pay that much money for something as useless as that mod.

Exactly, do the "BB" mod to your stock thermo. I have a 172* thermo in my garage if you want it I'll sell it to you.

My A/C works fine, heat is warm not hot. Just keep the windows up in the winter and you'll be fine. It will hit ~160* real fast but the climb to just above the 1/2 way mark is slow.

Also with the lower temp thermo, heat in the cab is less...even more so if you bypass your heater core for the summer, it is MUCH cooler in the vehicle.

the lower temp sux in the colder climate areas i had one in my s10 and never got hot. you need to use more temp to heat it up. and melting ice off windshield takes to long. just switch t-stats or just plan more time in the morning for truck to heat up
