Is there a big thread that swaps a 6.0 into a 5.3?

im pretty sure the iron heads wouldnt make the swap any more difficult... just heavier.... the crank on the other hand.. prob...... i wonder if you could just shave it down?? and maybe a rethread

the only reason he mentioned the heads is because the ones with iron heads are the ones with a longer crank. There's a few threads on what to do to make it work but I don't wana look for them right now.

So any certain year lq4 i should look for? May just buy a block and start from scratch. Truck has a procharger right now and I want to keep that on as well. I can just have the ecu tuned for the larger engine and injectors once those are installed as well. So i need a flywheel from a 4.8 ???

any flexplate will work with a normal lq4. Id just look for a lq4 and not piece one together..

Yah, find a complete one and go with it.. Pref a 05 or later as it has the LS2 internals and is a bit stronger then the older years, not that they are not capable of holding or making hp.. A 4.8- 5.3 flex plate will work...
