Is there a big thread that swaps a 6.0 into a 5.3?

Default Is there a big thread that swaps a 6.0 into a 5.3?

Hey guys, looking to build an lq4 and swap it into my 01 silverado 4x4 on boost. Wondering what I will need and what not or if there is already a big thread that has all these details. Thanks.

I don't think there is because there is not much difference. You just take out the engine you have in there and put in the other and hook everything back up.

Either unplug the PCM and use the PCM from the 6.0 or just retune the 5.3 pcm with the 6.0 tune. If your doing cam and such just flash in a 6.0 tune and adjust for the mods.

its just like taking out the 5.3, and putting it back in. The only differance is the bore size. its like old small blocks and swapping in a 350 over a 305. the motors are identicle externally. as for the boost setup, you will need a supporting fuel system. Depending on how much power you plan on making, a walbro or bosch pump and some 42-60 lb injectors will support as much as you can make on pump gas without meth.

So i wont need to swap the computer or the harness? Are intake manifold, fuel rails all the same? I have bigger injectors and a walbro pump supporting right now but may need more for the 6.0. Trans is a level 7 FLT 4l65 so i won't need to upgrade that. Something about a flex plate i need to swap from a 4.8?

Just swap the blocks and re-use all of the other stuff, including the flywheel off of the 4.8

Post 3 already said that Externally the engines are Exactly the same. So that should answer any part swapping questions.

Just take out what you have right now, Put the 6.0 in and have the PCM Retuned for the larger engine.
