Default Tested my cold air setup

Good news to report on the 4.3L front. Last time out I ran 10.45@66mph 2.25 60' time, with my mods at the time being cone K&N filter setup. Since then I switch over to a Burger cold air setup, and added a dynomax exhaust. Tonight I ran 10.10@69mph 2.25 60' time. Pretty decent improvement if you ask me, and I attribute a lot of that to my cold air setup.

I also tried a set of 28x10x15" ET streets and ran slower (big surprise). Still waiting for my ud pulleys to show up, and I borrowed a N2O kit today.

Hey Terry I had a similar set up on my V6 Dakota, and I gotta warn you, I got so many bugs and **** up in my K&N that it would not come completely clean. I had to get a toothpick and carefully pick all the **** out, so you might want to glue a piece of screen or something that won't hurt air flow over the hole.

terry i realize its in yur nature to show off. and i realize you love to start feuds too. and i don't really mind it. and i'm not trying to flame you. but could you maybe check out the name of this forum? i'm sure there has to be an s-10/sonoma sight out there where you can show off and cause trouble just as easily.

I think he is an Idiot, and i agree he loves to start . But i do believe since he owns a truck if that is what you want to call it, then he can post here as well as all the others. To get that thing to run put the gas on it and pulley and exhaust and it should go mid to low thirteens. I've built 1 that ran 13.20's back in 93. It was an S-10ss and it won us more money than any of the cars...lol Good luck, No Talent *** Clown...quote from Office Space...

Terry, did you see my post in your 1/8 mile post? 28"ET's on a mini You know better than that. Keep us updated, I'm curious to see the N20 runs.

The stock tires are 27.5" so the 28's didn't look out of place at all. I'm going to try to race 1/4 mile Sunday with the slicks and a 100 shot. I'd love a 13 out of the car but that seems way too optimistic. I'd need to get ~1.71 seconds out of a 100 shot.

Anyway at the 1/8th mile track the only non-race truck that was quicker was a new reg cab v8 ford. He was running 9.9's with a few mods.

i have seen a 97 seirra reg cab with a V6, intake, 125 shot and slicks run a 8.72 with a 1.88 60ft in the 1/8 mile. that might be good for a 13 sec 1/4mile.

Yeah that's easily a 13 second pass. Does the V6 Sierra have the same 4.3L engine? Maybe I'll try a 125 shot Sunday.

Terry

Have you autotapped the truck yet? Since you've done intake and exhaust mods there may be a little more power in tuning. Maybe you could mess with the IAT sensor to lean/richen it up and get a little more timing. Might get you into the nines.

Does that thing have a front swaybar?
Oh, will your skinnies bolt up to the front?
Uhh, Does it have a 40/60 split seat?
Do you really need the rear speakers in that little cab?

Just some free things to think about.

Good luck with the 13's

John
