Default temp setting for e-fans

I am currently running camaro ls1 fans on my truck. I built the harness so that the ac clutch controls one and the computer controls the other. My buddy is a camaro nut and has set several swap cars and drag cars set at 210. Is this safe for my daily driver? It seems to hardly ever kick on unless sitting for a while. Also the temp gauge in the truck never goes to 210 but the fan does come on sometimes. Does anyone else have a jacked up factory gauge?

My factory guage is way off as well. But mine is usally reading higher than what it really is rather than lower.
Stock my truck ran not by the factory guage but digital pcm readout..it ran at 205*
I don't think 210* will hurt your truck but it's a little warmer than i would care to run mine.
I would drop the temp on the fans down to kick in at about 185* or so.I have mine setup to come on at 180* been this way for over a year and all is well.

I think you want the computer to be able to turn both fans on when needed. One fan might do ok in mild weather but in rush hour traffic at 90-100*, I don't think it's gonna cut it. A couple of diodes will solve this problem.

You guys need to check your freon level. Mine cycles alot when it is low.

This will happen if you have the controller set to any of the defrost settings, regardless of the a/c being on.
