TBSS Intake VS SSR Intake
#1
I just picked up an SSR intake and a 92mm Nick Williams TB for a good price, The intake looks identical to a NBS intake except the MAP sensor goes more towards the front and the 4-bolt 90mm Throttle Body inlet.
Question is if their is a big difference between the SSR intake and the TBSS intake, is the hassle worth the HP gain for the TBSS intake compared to the SSR?
This intake is going on a 2000 Silverado 6.0 singlecab

Looks to be the exact same as a reg truck intake besides the 4bolt TB which is a plus and would help a little id imagine, but i was always under the assumption that the tbss made more power because of the larger plenum area and runners, which if you look their is a difference between intakes..

^Not totally, the SSR with Gen 3 engines still had the gen 3 manifold which is what that is, in 05 when they got the gen 4 then they had the TBSS intake, which should actually be called the gen 4 truck intake because all gen 4 truck engines recieved the intake no matter what the year. There would still be a benefit of finding a gen4/TBSS intake, just look at one once you can see the difference in the manifold size and runners. The one you have obviously looks nearly identical.
