Default TBSS Intake and throttle body

TBSS Intake and throttle body

I have a 2000 Silverado that I am planning on modding. Right now it's currently stock but I'm collecting all of my aftermarket parts for a one time install.

I'm going to go from stock 5.3L/4L60 to P1SC, LS6 cam and springs, hardened pushrods, 3000SC torque converter, 4L80E, NP149. I'm also going to lower it with spindles and shackles and add a Detroit Trutrac.

I've been searching around for information on running a different throttle body. I've got the cable setup instead of the drive by wire.

So I figure I can either change everything over to the DBW setup or swap to the TBSS intake and throttle body. I'd rather not change the pedal assembly and ECU.

So what does it take to swap over to the TBSS intake setup? Can I use my existing fuel rails and injectors? (I actually have larger injectors I plan on swapping in. 42lb injectors if I recall.)

Are there substantial gains when running the procharger + TBSS intake/throttle body, or does it even matter? Should I just get my stock throttle body ported instead? Or even find aTBSSthrottle body and have it ported?

I've seen on here changing over to the larger intake made for a 15rwhp increase on a 6.0. I'm just wondering how having a boosted setup effects things.

Thanks in advance!

Just get a cable TB that will work with the intake. I think there's an edelbrock that works. I'll link the tbss intake install thread when I get home.

Alright thanks.

I guess I'm wondering if it's a worthwhile improvement and how valuable it is when you're running forced induction.

I'd love to go from DBW to DBC. You don't want to convert. Probably a huge pain in the ***. I'd look into getting a nick williams tb. If you're going to run the tbss intake. They aren't cheap though.

You can make good power with the stock truck intake. The tbss intake flows better. It will allow you to make more power, with less boost. I wouldn't worry about p&p'ing a tb.

I know maggie injectors are 42#'s. Not sure if they are enough with a cam also.
