What is the marine intake being used on? Vehicle or boat?
Only reason I ask is because I've seen people use Mercruiser blocks and electronics in some mild race cars. They even had the Mercruiser engine cover on it.

You won't get any gains porting the throttle body or installing a larger on the Marine L31 Intake. It will do just fine with the 78mm throttle body. The manifold itself flows much better than the stock one at high RPM and the large internal volume makes air flow through the throttle body efficient. I do recommend removing the EGR diffuser plate from the throttle body blade since there's no EGR blowing against the bottom of it.
