Default TB bypass?

What should I use to connect the TB hoses together? And can I get this somewhere like autozone?

yes you can get it from autozone, use a 1/4" hose butt splice. or hose to hose connector.

I just did mine this weekend, using exactly that. 1/4" to 1/4" hose butt splice, came with 2 hose clamps, then bought a pack of 1/4" vacuum caps to seal off the TB. Something like $6 total. Don't pull the hoses off hot! I let mine cool for about 45 mins (not enough) and pulled one side off. Still under pressure, got hot coolant to squirt all over my hand OUCH.

Attach the end that goes to the radiator (now that you have taken it from the left side of the TB facing the truck) to the top of the engine where the right hose went to. There is enough to make it work.

Are't you suppost to partly drain the coolant?

I didn't but I had a plastic cup and some rags ready if some coolant came out. Only a small amount of coolant spilled out.

this is where vise grips come in handy,
loosen the belt, take out the bolt on the alternator next to the TB, get it out of the way,
pinch the hose on the right side as far away from the TB as you can get, then do the left side, take off the coolant cap to release any pressure, now remove the hoses and just reconnect them with the butt connector and put everything back, now your done with no coolant loss.

it's a controversial mod. The cooler your internal air the less the computer will take from your timing. More timing equals more power. That's not a theory, that's fact. But I haven't seen anyone post any numbers of how much less your IAT is. It's a good mod for warm weather guys like in Texas. The closer to the north during winter months your throttle blade might start to stick because the coming into your throttle body is so cold...small chance, but GM obviously thinks it's necessary to keep your throttle bottle a little warm just in case.
