Took the family SUV to the track tonight.You know when you take a Tahoe to the track every slower car there tries to lineup with you for an easy kill.First up was a V8 S10, he was in for a shock my first pass was a 13.58@101.0 to his 14.42.Next came two different Mustang GTs they ran a 15.43 and a 15.54 same result,the Terminator prevailed.By the end of the night I was becoming accustomed to the Tahoe's new found power when a RCSB Silevrado with a Whipplecharger and ASM headers challenged me to a race my Tahoe responded with my best pass of the night a 13.285@101.38 to his 14.04@99.20.Man did I leave the track feeling cocky.

The Tahoe is 2wd 01 LT with a 3.73 G80 rearend.My mods are a intercooled Magnacharger,ASM headers,Flow Master catback,electric fans,160 thermostat,UPD lid with homemade ramair,Yank 3000,and a corvette servo.

 

Does the blower heat-soak quite a bit?

I'm not seeing much a heatsoak problem I made 3 allmost back to back runs with an improvement on each run but it was only about 75 degrees tonight.I'm running water with waterwetter in the intercooler.

 

I'd love to see you hit 12.9's on street tires with your setup!

I'm driving my older 99 Tahoe right now but I have been thinking about getting a new one and doing something similar.

Thought about 4.10's at all?

 

Hey Prostock John if you build a Tahoe let me know and be glad to exchange info with you.The 3.73 gear with 26"Drag TAs puts the Tahoe at 5200rpm crossing the 1/4mi stripe.12s are definately doable I think I have another 1/10th at the line and I have 1.85 rockers and bigger wye pipes to install.I also have some custom tuning lined up after they are installed.I can still put ice in the intercooler.I'm hoping for mid 12s.

Maybe whitt1 should change his name to "L-Eater Spanker" or something. That was me that ran the 14.04 against him (a new personal worst, by the way!) He has that 'hoe running very good. The first pass I saw him make was against a Stang and he left it in the dust. I heard the blower whining all the way down the track so I had to go investigate. I knew by the sound he had a Whipple or a Magna. That thing is a beast. Way to go whitt1!!
