Default T-Body Bypass

Is there any gain out of doing this mod? I did it to my old truck, but had also done the CAI at the same time.

The gain is probably negligible but every little bit helps. Plus, being in Texas, you won't have to reverse it for the winter...

There's no reason not to do it. You can do it in less than two minutes. You don't need an adapter and all that crap. The hose that feeds into the left side of the TB is long enough to reach where the other hose feeds in to the right of the TB. Unclamp all hoses, run the one on the left all the way over to the other location and clamp it off. I stuck two rubber caps on the nipples on the TB just to keep crap out of them.

Is there really a difference if you do this and live in a much harsher winter state? I'm active duty military and will be getting orders to NY sometime soon.....

The performance gain, if any, will remain the same. However, there have been horror stories of people doing the bypass and the throttle body actually 'freezing' causing it to remain open while driving. If you are moving to New York I wouldn't bother doing it unless you want to undo it everytime winter rolls around...

Mine has been bypassed for a couple years now, winter and all... No issues.
