Default Switch to synthetic oil?

Bought a new silverado in January and will be doing the first oil change next weekend at around 2500 miles
Can I switch to synthetic or should I run a coventional oil longer for the rings to seat?
Or are the rings seated already
Thanks

I would run synthetic in this next oil change.

On my '07 I ran Mobil conventional for 15,000 miles then went to Mobil 1. At just over 130,000 miles right now it doesn't burn any oil. You'll be fine switching over now though, as a hanful of vehicles come out of the factory with synthetic.

It’s no doubt been properly run-in after 2,500 miles. My ’11 5.3 LMG received fresh oil and a new filter at 500, and again at 1000.
With the DOD issues some here have suffered, wanted to give it an honest chance.

Regardless of cleanliness upon initial assembly, there will always be random dingleberries floating around within the lubrication circuit.
Still awaiting lab results from those UOAs.

FWIW, warranty compliance requires use of “dexos” oil. Not coincidentally, they’re all refined with synthetic supplements.

Well yeah, I ran Mobil 1 in my trans am for years and when I tore the motor down it still looked great
Then ran it in my 396 stroker
It's what I run in my wife's cx-7 and I wanted to switch in my truck but didn't know about ring seating with factory rings

I waited until about 9-10k before I changed mine to sythetic. My truck kept running better and better as the miles got higher...I have to attribute that to the rings seating better so I personally would wait to 10k or so. The only other explanation for the truck running better over time/miles is that there is something in the stock ecu that lets things run better as the miles increase for better long term durability.
