Question Supercharger ???'s

Alright guys, I gotta '01 5.3. What is your guys' opinion on the best supercharging system. In my opinion, it narrows down to Procharger, MagnaCharger and Kenne Bell (Not in that order). I would like to know your guys' opinon though.

I would stay away from the KB blowers. Everyone says their customer service blows.

I would say either of the 2 remaining kits depending on what you want to do with the truck.

If you want something that's a ball to drive and will beat anything off the line, go with the RADIX. It is the most complete kit too.

The ATI has good gains up top, but lacks the power on the bottom end. You will also end up needing to get injectors and a tune and a couple of other things that will add up to about the price the RADIX would run you.

Just don't let money be the deciding factor. Save a little longer if you need to. You'll end up spending it on the ATI anyways more than likely.

I would reccomend the Radix

Please feel free to call us with any questions you may have !

The ATI is a nice kit to have for power in the higher RPM's, for street/strip use the Radix will blow your mind!

Well even if the customer service blows, are the superchargers themselves any good? I read an article where a KB gave a stock 4.8 an extra 100 hp at the wheels. I figure if it does that for a stock 4.8, what will it do for a 5.3 with some extra work. And I've never seen any #'s for the Radix system except for what Magnacharger advertises.

Kenney bell kit is very similar to the Whipple, in fact the only differece is fuel delivery and compresor housing.

As far as the best kit? Radix is the best out of the box kit, it is also the most expensive. By that definition one could even argue that the powerdyne is the best bang for the buck, however no one on this site runs a powerdyne.

It all comes down to preferance

I have an 01' with an ati. I've upgraded injectors and got a custom computer and i've spent around $4400 total. That's a little less than the radix. The truck put down 352 hp and 348 ft-lbs. at the wheels before the tune and injectors. I can tell it's got a little more now from the better tune. Even though it's probably not as much as the radix at the low end, it's got plenty of power to light up both back tires from a takeoff.

The big question is what do you want to do w/ the truck after you SC it?

I'm running the Radix, I came real close to getting the Kenne Bell but I called a talked to them about the system and their answer was "read the web site" and I was like, I did! and here are my questions. then it was like they were making a huge effort to actaully talk to me. + you have to pull your ECM out and send it to THEM to program, so you've got at least a week of down time for mailing your stuff to them + another $100 for shipping. thats why I went Radix. absolutely no regrets.

There was a article in sport truck magazine a while back that had some numbers in it for the radix.

I have seen 374 rwhp and 457 rwt, but that is with headers.
