Hey guys/gals, a friend of mine has an 01 Tahoe with the 5.3L and I told him I would do some mods for him. He uses the vehicle for daily driving and towing his boat so we are wanting to focus on low end torque and not necesssarily a stoplight warrior.

With that said, obviously the basics are looking to be covered and we are targeting roughly a grand to do it all. Looking at intake, headers and a cat-back. I don't know how much programming is worth on these vehicles since the main interest here is towing and daily driving. Some input sure would be appreciated as well as the ideal vendors to purchase these parts from. Used stuff is also great as well so if you are selling something please chime in. Thanks!

 

Gears, UPD intake, and free flowing muffler

 

fairly easy mods to help with the low end.
1. Gibson 3in cat back--------$289
2. Hypertech programer--------$345
3. K+N FIPK-------------------$260
4. Underdrive Pullys----------$220
Those things add up to @ $1000, and enhance the low end dramaticaly. Gears would also work, but they kill gas milage.

 

So you'd leave the stock manifolds instead of headers over the hpp?
