Default STS owners... come on in... questions!

I've talked to a couple of you on PM already. TurboBerserker has given me a ton of good info.

Here's what I'm planning:
- Vehicle - '02 Yukon Denali (6.0 liter, AWD)
- STS Kit
- GT-67
- 42lb Injectors
- Tune
- Fuel Pump
- Electronic Boost Controller
- Methanol Injection

Some of the questions I can think of:
1. How much boost could I (should I) run? I'm planning around 6psi normally, then 8psi at the track or when I really feeling like moving. How high is feasible on a stock 6.0 LQ4 (lower compression than the LQ9)?

2. It seems I should get a shift kit/servo. I also understand a Stall would be a good idea too. Any suggestions on 2600-3000?

3. Anyone with a stock 6.0, what kind of power did you put down with the STS and what mods/extras were you running at the time?

4. What else...???

Weedo, you are on the right track, I would definetly recommend a stall converter, we have had great results from the Yank truck converters.
At max I would say you should be able to run 10psi with the meth kit and everything else you have listed.

You will really like that setup. I have a crew cab short bed 4x4 lifted on 33's and it burns the tires of like im on ice. I run 8 psi and I have the mods listed in my sig. I have been chasing a lot of little issues but I think Allen at Nelson Performance nailed it this time.

I had the truck dyno'd prior to the IC and only at 5 psi. I got 320 RWHP and 385 RWTQ. It runs a lot stronger now and I hope to get it dyno'd again soon.

And I'm sure your 33's and lift are not helping!

I hit 280awhp and 310awtq with just the Flowmaster cat-back. Seems stronger than it should be, but I went back for another dyno run to test another part and got the same numbers. I wonder what you put out stock? I'm hoping with the Methanol to hit close to the 400awhp mark. I'd love to hear what you're at when you get it all straightened out, with the IC!!

You are on the right track... You need the 43 or 44lb injectors that are the marine truck/suv style if you dont want to modify your fuel rails. Otherwise you can save $$ and modify them.

If you have 4wd, get at least a 3200-3500 unless you plan on towing alot, otherwise a YankTT3000 might be a better bet imo.

As far as psi goes... you are going to have to run 2 boost levels with that meth kit. 5 psi on low boost b/c you don't have an intercooler and you dont want to run through the meth all the time. On high boost, maybe 8-9 or so sefely, but the 6.0's can handle more than the 5.3's can. Every setup will act different, so tune it for high boost on a dyno and see if get get any detonation and then put it to test.

You can tune for better shifts and such. I'm not usre about needing transgo, i dont have one. I'm not sure if i'll even get one yet.

I'm getting my truck tuned and on the mustang dyno friday and I can get more pictures of the Kit, Fmic, and engine bay if you want. You can see what numbers it puts out.

I had it dynoed prior to the turbo. It was not quite stock, it had the hypertech, K&N intake and dyal flows. It dynoed at 290 RWHP and I thing 318 RWTQ.

Here is mu IC set up, seems to work pretty good. I built a scoop for it that also doubles as a stone guard.

The guys pretty much covered everything

If you decide to run big boost later on I would recomend getting a good boost controller. The TurboSmart E-Boost controller is the one I'm getting. I was gonna tell you about it Chris after I see how it works on mine. I like the idea of being able to program boost for different gear and what not. It will make launching on the street MUCH easier in 2wd.

Yep, you are headed in the right direction.
Like others have said, boost controller and especially an IC/intercooler to really amp the boost up. Thx jnybbad for the IC pics, it also looks alot like Jerry2500's setup. I'm gonna do one for my Dodge shortly.
