Default STS kit questions

first off id like to say Thanks to everyone here at PT.net for being so helpfull with everything. Im gonna be gettin this kit for christmas this year(seen a text in my wifes phone while i was snoopin). The kit says it comes with the diablosport predator handheld(stage 2 kit), but i already have the retarded thing(even more ) and i know i can get the kit cheaper by 400 bucks by tellin them i dont need it, but the tricky part is tellin my wife that i dont need it in the kit when i dont know im getting the kit from her anyway if i run 6 psi can i keep the stock internals and stock drivetrain(i have 5.3 HO and 3.73)if i do i know i dont have to mess with bottom end till i get past 12psi right? if i need to do top end, what lifters, pushrods, cam etc. should i go with considering money no object, i want the best and i wanna do it right first time. Thanks-

I would start saving for injectors and a built tranny if you dont have one.
i know sts isnt 100% bolt on but not sure what it is lacking
that should be alot of fun!

i believe the stage 2 kit comes with #44 injectors, and i only plan on running 5psi for now.... even 5-6psi i should worry bout the stock rear end?

I havent seen too many auto's take out rearends, besides lockers. I would go with a truetrac, seams to be the croud favorite here, and think about higher gears ,3.42 or 3.23's spoolin just switched and is pleased from what i hear.

Ha...that's funny that you mention the STS. I was reading about it too and I like the idea. I have 4.10's on the rear and a TruTrac. My concern is with the tranny. It's still basically stock with Transgo Shift Kit and Vette Servo on 1-2.
I also have new chromoly 7.40 push rods, and 220/220, .581/.581 112lsa Comp Cam, along with Titanium retainers, seats & seals.

There's something that I learned with the STS, is that there may be a little bit of a delay on the boost b/c of the air not going strait into the block like a front mount would.

For what i use my truck for, i like the STS..
If i were you i would get a custom tune instead of the Predator. Sell the Predator and recoup some of the money or save up for a Eaton LSD or Trutrac.

3.73s will be fine especially if you have taller tires than the stockers.

Your trans and Rear Diff would be my only concern. Im running 5psi on a stock LQ4 6.0L. Runs great and gets great gas mileage. Tows well also!!

Dont forget a Intercooler!!

Just start hinting to the ms's that you are interested in the kit, that if you did get one you would be ahead of the game because you already have that tuner. I would also go for a custom tune. You should be fine running the stock valve train. Get ready for a new tranny and rear

i would just talk to her about what you want, and make sure to make it obvious you dont need the predator. either write it out or whatever. I would get on the sts site, act like im buying the kit, stop at checkout print it and write on that page dont need predator. then leave it hangin around. Make a quote type a deal.

hmmmmm, delay on the boost meaning turbo lag or lag before the turbo starts spoolin

if i give any slight idea about the kit again to her, she will know somethings up. shes a sneaky lil bitch but i love her thats why i gotta be sneakier then her if my tranny and rear cant handle it then ill prolly just go with the 80e and new gears to go with lsd. was thinkin maybe installin a TQ verter too, but is it nessicary on 5-6psi daily?

yes a slight delay, but I'm interested in learning more of the application. I like staying conservative when making a decision like this.
