Heck, if I can get 25hp, that will put me at the magical 400rwhp, oops, awhp number! That's easily good for 500 at the crank! I need it for this pig...

I'm also thinking I should spin up to 6,000rpm for the shifts instead of 5,500rpm. I'm assuming they set it lower because of the valve float. I know the power is still up there at 6,000rpm.

Default Hp In Timing!

There is alot of HP in your timing. When you are running the meth you can run alot more timing in that thing. I would defenatly tune it on the meth for the every day tune. The heat and gas here suck not to run the meth at all times. Good luck may be we'll see you out at Firebird one of these days.

Turbos don't mind being short shifted, they make so much torque so you might not have to spin it up very high. My truck is shifting at 5600, and that feels plenty.
After it shifts, it feels like it just pulls harder.
Might be different in your case though.
Go to the track and start at high then work your way down each run, I've heard of turbo cars running faster short shifting.

He's right. Turbos love to have timing. Some setups run better on more timing less boost, others can be the other way around with more boost.

I think I am running 15* at full boost and 12 or 13* when boost comes on. I was getting KR after that. We then tried 10 psi and were getting KR as well. backed it down to 9 ran more timing, it was alright, but we set it at 8.5 or so.

And on the other hand, you have a newer PCM, so you could probably get more boost and timing out of the 6.0 motor and the newer PCM with seeing less flase knock. The 99 pcms suck, i am thinking of swapping in an 02.

Thirdly, you are running on a Meth mixture, so it will enrichen the octane letting you run much, much more timing and boost. 91-93 octane isn't much for a boosted ls1 motor.

Yea Allen has my timing @ 18* just to be safe when i'm towing, but it can run more. With the 00 PCM he had it set @15* but KR would pull 6-7* timing.

Weedo.
It would be interesting to see what you gain with just the new valve springs. Will you be doing that?

Yep, new valve springs and hardened pushrods are going in today. Mike, the guy who Tunes for Xtreme said when he was tuning at 9psi before, there was no detonation, but because of the springs he had to drop it down to 7psi. We'll find out what he can set it at today. 9psi? 10psi? Should be good for another 30hp. I'll re-dyno to get the numbers again.

Mike said my stock timing was set at -5* (yes, negative). He set it at 12*. Not sure if he's going to change that today when he re-tunes.

Thats strange. In the 95* FL heat I was able to run 14* unintercooled before the meth and had no Detonation.
Have you thought about putting one of those OBX front mounts on? It would make everything so much easier and more worry free. Im going to do some sort of interccoling along with more meth later this year.

I don't think there was any detonation. They set it lower because of the valve float. I'll know more this evening when I pick it up as to what settings they've done.

Xtreme is working on a FMIC. It'll be fun to put that on and see what differences there are!
