Default STS Denali 1/4 Times tonight

I'm a bit disappointed, but it's very obvious why. MY TRANS SUCKS!

14.3 @ 100.x (twice) tonight at Firebird in Phoenix AZ.

0-20mph with the stock stall is pig-slow. Brake torque to get the boost up only gets me about 2psi, then I have to launch 5700lbs. At about 25mph the turbo SLAMS me back in the seat. Which is great until the 1-2 shift. It starts to shift at about 40mph or so and doesn't finish shifting until I'm at about 60mph. It's obviously all wasted power not getting to the ground. 2-3 shift is just as bad.

The fix????? New built Trans and a bigger Stall. Even on our slow track here that should yield me a 13.5 with NO problem. (Firebird is notoriously about .3-.4 slower than most tracks, I know, excuses excuses!!)

As soon as my trans is fully fried, I'll go back for more times!

The good news is that I beat an '00-ish GT and an '03-ish GT. And a Maxima, well, duh! I lost to a Heads/Cam/Auto '03 C5. Not horribly, but he took me out of the hole good!

I was suprised my G-Tech times were .5 quicker than the actual track. I've heard they're .1 to .2 off at the most. Seems odd!

Not bad. You are right, even a mild stall will do wonders for you.

You're doin good man.

Without a stall you won't be able to launch with any real amount of boost. You'll need about 6psi+ to get off the line hard. If I launch under 6psi I lag to high hell and my 60's goes to ****.

I also had trouble with the shifting problem. It was fine at first but at 14psi it would bang off the limiter for awhile then drop into 3rd.

I bet your MPH goes up to about 104mph or so with the trans shifting right. If it's doing it as bad as you say then the MPH is really hurting. I also bet your 60' drops like a rock if you can get it to stall up and launch on 6psi.

Good numbers Your mph is up there good enough for 13's.
Man I know your trans is on its way out but I think a shift kit would do wonders.
Probably too late now though.
When I first installed the turbo mine took forever to shift out, so I didn't beat on it, I promptly installed a shift kit and stall and its doing great so far.

.....cough cough......... 2.4x for the 60ft. There is no traction issue because it's so slow out of the hole, and with all-wheel drive and 305 Pirellis at each corner, I don't know if i'll ever have traction as an issue!

It sucks when someone kills you of the line, but it sure is fun to run them down. They are probably thinking, WTF, no way in hell a truck can do this.

LOL! So true! I'm sure both the guys in the Mustang GT's were stratching their heads as I just walked on by. Here's the best part, I left the BAbyseat in the truck when I ran!!!!!
