Default Stock vs. Walbro 255

Well I think the stock pump is garbage, I figure while the truck is still apart might as well replace it. Question is should I stick with stock or go Walbro 255?

LS1 with P&P LS6 heads, cam, LS6 intake with SVO#30s and pretty much full boltons. No boost in the future.. maybe just a 75 shot.

I am thinking stock would be fine but I wanna buy the right one the first time.

Thanks!

The Walbro will supply your needs, and then some. I'd upgrade if I was going in there anyway. There maybe better pumps (that Mercedes pump comes to mind) but I've been rolling on the walbro for over 2 years without issue and have a pretty solid demand for fuel.

if you go with the 255 you'll have to modify your bucket right? (prior 2004) As much modding as we all do, I'd put the 120 dollar 255 in. Fug it. Unlease you want to put hardly any work into it...then just replace the stocker.

K.. maybe I will go with the 255 then. I was reading your supposed to not let it go under a 1/4 tank of gas or something?

My buddy said it would actually probably be cheaper to go 255 then replace the stock unit

Gas is the coolant and the lubricant for the pump. Going low in the tank will lead to "cavitation" which causes extreme heat and wear...on any in-tank pump.
