Default Hypertech track results

Remeber all times are at 4000ft. in Fallon ,NV.

Well, I went to the track yesterday to test out the hypertech. Last year I ran a 16.232@ 85.594.

Well I borrowed my nieghbors HPP3 to try it out. I installed the 93 oct tune, 30in tires, 3.73 rear, 6200 limiter, 1-2 shift +3, 2-3 shift +9, 3-4 shift +0, firmer shift.

I ran a 15.729 @ 88.69mph. R/T . 367, 60ft 2.394, 1/8th 10.22 @ 70.998.
This was with the HPP3.
Thats .503 quicker and 3 mph faster. I was like wow this thing rocks. UNTIL.....

I returned it back to the stock tune and ran it.
I ran 15.943 @ 86.566mph. R/t .247, 60ft 2.435, 1/8th 10.318 @ 70.513.

The HPP3 helps, but I think the gains are minimal for the money. Especially when you can get a mail order or HPtuners for a little more cash.

Thank god you took the tuning out and posted those results too. At first I was gonna give you crap bro. LOL

You can never get accurate results from tuning and testing months apart, let alone a year. Hahaha

Yeah - The performance vs $ isnt worth it!
Dont know if you saw the Two Guys Garage tv show where they claimed 40hp with a Volant intake and HP3 https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282409

F8L,
I almost forgot to run it w/ the stock tune. I got two good runs in before they closed. I should be in the high 14's I think in SAC. I am 90% sure I am coming down on the 16th. I was so suprised to run that 15.9 on a stock tune.

If I was going to by a handheld I think I would have to go with a diablo, the HPP3 is way to basic.

40hp from Volant and HPP3.... I got like 80hp, of course I add the stickers too. That was worth 75hp.lol

Yeah I didnt notice any SOTP. The shift points really helped out. Shifting at 6k for the 1-2 stopped the falling on it face during WOT. The HPP3 is good for tire, rear, shift points (not very many parameters, but sufficent), and DTC reading and clearing.

I think I rather lose a couple hundred pounds off the truck before I would pay full price for one. I would buy an ebayed one for the right price.
