Default stock tune

ok im putting my cam valve springs and pushrods in in the next few weeks i was just wondering if my truck will run without it being tuned its a crane 218/224 with 551 lift and i will have my 3k stall put in also and my cats are cut off also not sure if that would make a diff a just want to know if its going to idle and run ok because it wont be tuned for a while

get it tuned. you can drive it, but it will be a bitch in town. tune really brings the power out too.

it wil run but you'll be two-footin it everywhere...that cam sounds plain nasty untuned...i loved mine

I drove on the stock tune for 4 days it died at every stop at first but after a while the computer kept it alive. I wouldnt rev it or beat on it though

Keep in mind that you have power steering and brakes which dont work very good when the engine dies you could cause an accident.

With no more than moderate driving, the long term fuel trims will automatically do some compensating over the next couple of weeks to try to bring the AFR toward stochoimetric. However, it will be a dog to drive until you get a proper tune.

Try to make sure that it's tuned for part throttle, wide open throttle and idle. A lot of tuners just want to set up WOT on an inertial dyno and that's not very adequate in my opinion. Also, find out what your injector duty cycle is running at max HP. You may be running out of injector with your stock injectors.
